URGENT: Faculty are entitled to FA representation when meeting with General Counsel or PCC Administration

PCCFA LOGO LARGE

To all faculty,

Recently the College Counsel, Gail Cooper, hailed a faculty member into her office to discuss the dropping of a student in one of her classes. Ms. Cooper informed the faculty member that she did not need to have a Faculty Association representative present and proceeded to question her at length about the drop.

First, any time a faculty member is asked to meet with College Counsel,  or with any other administrator who might be questioning their performance, they are entitled to have a representative present.

Second, the FA would have directed the issue to the instructional side of the college where such matters belong.

In the future, please be advised that it is your right to be represented by your Faculty Association any time such an issue arises. In the event you are contacted by General Counsel or any member of the administration on issues of your performance or working conditions, please contact the FA office at (626) 585-7261 or via email at facultyassociation@gmail.com.
